            1st. To 9th.                                                                                           (page 2)
            Inclusive        Training.  Firing practice  Signallers and Range Finders classes daily Shoeing horses.  Equipping,  Repairing Saddlery & harness.  Rebranding horses.  9th received 30 remounts. & distributed them to Sections.  (GFY)

10th. to 19th.
Inclusive.         Daily routine as before.  19th. Mobilization Parade.  (GFY)

20th. to 22nd.
Inclusive          Preparing to proceed to Front Line. (GFY)

23rd.                 Left at 0800 for Bir EL Abd. Watered at Negiliat. Marched on at (1300) Watered at Bir Abu EL Afien at (1600).  Arrived Bir EL Abd at (1700).  Bivouced for night. 

24th.                             Left Bir EL Abd at (0700) for Hod EL Ge’eila, took over camp from 3rd. ALH Bde. M.G. Squadron, formed bivouac camp.

25th.                             Mounted two Antiaircraft guns.

26th.                             At Ge’eila

27th.                             (0800)  Left with Brigade by route march to Bir Mosiefig & formed bivouac encampment.  Selected positions for Anti aircraft guns.  Looked over outpost line with OC  Brigade. 

28th.                 Started on following daily routine.  Mounted 2 A A guns. Instructing new men in M G work, and gave every care to horses.

29th.     1215.               Fired on enemy aeroplane.

30th. & 31st.                 At Mosiefig.  Daily routine. (GFY)

  (GFY) are the initials of the Adjutant, 13/2973 Lieut George Franklyn Yerex, who obviously wrote the diary that was later signed by the Captain.
